Sittin' High

Baby Emma hates meal time. She hates meal time because she wasn't sitting at the table with the rest of us.  I love our Fisher Price high chair because it reclines for the little ones.  Now we can sit her in the high chair, wheel her up to the table, and she feels like part of the fam since she's up close and personal.  Now, if someone would just slip her some food. . . . . . . . . .

Girls and Halloween Outfits

We look for every chance we can get to dress up around our house.  Right now it's Halloween season, and we like to dress to fit the season.

Usually I buy the girls Halloween shirts from Target or Wal-Mart.  They are inexpensive there, and since they only wear them for the month of October we can get a couple and keep rotating them.  A couple of weeks ago I went out to Legends (outlet mall) and hit Carter's.  I hit Carter's hard.  But inside Carter's were these adorable little witch shirts.  So of course we needed two.  I also belong to a GroupDealz, and each day they email me all sorts of cute odds and ins and that's how we ended up with Halloween leg warmers.  So, it's October and the big girls are decked out in their Halloween attire.  I think they turned out pretty cute.

 

Emma scored her Halloween onesie at Wal-Mart.  Somehow I missed getting a picture of the front but it's a little ghost, and the booty says "booty full".  She had to wear her leggings on the inside of the onesie, which is backwards for babies, so that every could see the back even though she spent most of the day in her car seat.

 

 

So, here's the question and answer portion of my day:

1. Some bloggers do a "What I Wear Wednesday" post.  I've seen this done for adults and kids.  Haven't really thought about doing it for myself because my clothes are pretty boring, but thinking about it for the girls.  Interested?
2. Do you dress your kids for the seasons, if so which one is your favorite?

Day at the Patch

In the past we had been to Carolyn's Pumpkin Patch but I always get a little irritated because I feel like it's a little on the expensive side.  This year I spotted a Groupon for a family pass and snatched it up.  Now that I feel like I've gotten a deal, I enjoy going.  And now that I have the season pass I don't feel like I have to go for the entire day because we can always go back again.

I love taking pictures of the girls walking hand-in-hand with their Daddy.  They are always my favorite.  I wonder if Darren gets tired of me taking pictures of his butt. . . .

Daddy has to fill in as the third pumpkin until Baby Emma can get up there.

Fall is definitely here, we are doing all of our favorite fall activities!!  We'll continue to get out there and get our pumpkin on until it's time to switch seasons again!!



Ready Set, Trike!

I tell anyone that listens to me that I love Grace's school.  It's been wonderful for her, and we've seen such an improvement in her speech and listening skills.  Every year her school has a trike-a-thon.  Both girls were really looking forward to it again this year.  The weather was pretty cold, but we loaded up the bikes and took off for school.

It always amazes me that Grace will take off on her bike when their are other kids around.  If it's just her and her sister she always requires pushing.  At school she was quite a ways ahead of us, I was zoomed in pretty good to get this pic.

 

Face Painting

After freezing their booties off for a bit, we went inside for face painting.  However, my girls prefer to have their hands painted.

Grace chose a jack-o-lantern.

Abby chose a sunshine but as soon as I snapped this picture her jacket sleeve fell down over it and messed it all up.  That was the drama of the morning.  Stuff like that always happens to Abby.

Birthday Party Fun

After the trike-a-thon Grace and I headed over to one of her little friends house for a birthday party.  At one point I "lost" Grace inside this house only to find her in the corner with her little friend eating suckers. 

At this party there was a wild animal exhibit.  Some of the animals they could touch, others they couldn't.  As you can see Grace was up front and center with the birthday boys taking it all in.

Baby monkey.  You couldn't touch the baby monkey.  Too bad because this is the only one I would have considered touching.

End of the party hugs.  I didn't realize what good little friends these two are until this party.  So cute together!

 

That was our Saturday.  It was a crazy day, but it was a good family day.  Everyone enjoyed themselves.  Our weekends seem to just get busier and busier!

Three Years Ago Today

It's hard to believe that three years ago today Abby joined our little family.  I remember it very all so well, and I hope those memories never fade.  I remember the doctor being late.  I had horrible braxton hicks and was ready to get this baby delivered.  I remember my spinal block hurting worse this time than it had with Grace.  When the procedure finally started I remember the doctor telling Darren to stand up because the baby was almost out, but I started contracting really hard and she couldn't get her out so Darren saw more of my insides than he cared to.  But when she did come out the cries that were coming out of this baby should have been my first clue as to what I was in store for with Abby.  She would pause for about three seconds and then start wailing again.  She was so mad to be taken from her dark and warm little home.  I remember having the cutest little yellow sleeper with hearts on it, but it made her look very jaundice and everyone kept thinking she needed to go under the lights, which she did not.  Darren and I were on pins and needles until they let us go home.  We were hoping to not have a repeat performance of Grace's entrance into this world.  After four days, we were sent home.  I cried tears of joy.  The weather was unseasonably cold for October, and I couldn't dress her in the outfit I bought to take her home.  She wore a sleeper with lady bugs on it. . . . . . . . .

 



 

 

The months clicked by and before I knew what was happening Abby was one.  We had her first Minnie Mouse birthday party.  I remember her not liking cake very well.  She wore an over the top pink tutu with a My First Birthday onesie.  It was chilly that year and the outfit was perfect. 

 

 

 

 

More months clicked by and my little doodlebug turned two.  For some reason I can't find my photos from that month.  It's really bothering me.  I only had this one.  I may have to pull out our old computer and do some digging.  We had a zebra themed Minnie Mouse party for round two.  I made Grace and Abby little pillow case dresses. They were so cute.  It was hot and they stripped out of their leggings to play outside. 

 

And here we are, Minnie Mouse round three. 

 

 

Abby. . . . . . my daughter who is most like me. . . . .my own personal sunshine who lights up my life. . . . .with a temper so quick and fierce it can flip like a light switch. . . . . .who loves to snuggle. . . . .she who does not (and will never have to) give up the title of mommy's baby. . . .the only one who gets to be a BIG sister and a little sister. . . . . .for you Abby, I prayed.  And God answered those prayers.  I thank him for you every day.  You make my life a brighter place.  Happy 3rd Birthday Doodlebug!
